Knock-out
Een knock-out is een type filmgame waarbij een van te voren opgestelde reeks elementen (films, acteurs, regisseurs, etc.) per tweetal met elkaar vergeleken worden. Deelnemers kunnen hun stem uitbrengen voor één van beide elementen, waarbij het element dat als eerste een van te voren gedefinieerd aantal stemmen bereikt 'wint', en het andere element uit het spel verdwijnt. In de volgende ronde worden dan alle winnaars weer per tweetal met elkaar vergeleken, en valt dus weer de helft af. Dit gaat door tot aan de finale, waarin de laatst overgeblevenen het tegen elkaar opnemen. De winnaar van de finale is de winnaar van het hele spel.
Het aantal elementen aan een spel is normaal gesproken een macht van twee (2,4,8,16,32,64 etc.), opdat steeds de helft van de elementen af kan vallen. Is het beginaantal niet gelijk aan een macht van twee, dan moeten er pre-eliminaties gehouden worden. Van James Bond bijvoorbeeld zijn er nu eenmaal 20 films gemaakt, wat met pre-eliminaties dus eerst werd gereduceerd tot het aantal van 16, wel een macht van twee.
Bij elke strijd mag de gebruiker slechts eenmaal zijn voorkeur opgeven. Een stem opgeven gebeurd door jouw voorkeur op te tellen bij de score van je voorganger. Deze verhoog je met één cijfer. vb. Reservoir Dogs - Taxi Driver 1-0 Volgende: 2-0 Volgende: 2-1. enz. Om door te gaan naar de volgende ronde moet een vooraf afgesproken stemmen behaald worden, en tevens vaak een verschil aan stemmen met de 'verliezer'. In de eerste ronde is de eis meestal vijf stemmen en één stem verschil. Het aantal te behalen stemmen en en het vereiste verschil wordt vaak per ronde geleidelijk verhoogd.

Geschiedenis
Het balletje is gaan rollen in het topic 'Al Pacino of Robert DeNiro?'. Deze twee werden tegenover elkaar gezet om de beste acteur te bepalen. Er werd door The One Ring voorgesteld om dit bij meer acteurs te doen. Hierop heeft Yekezzez een knock-out spel in elkaar gezet naar voorbeeld van Wimbledon. De 128 acteurs en actrices kwamen uit een willekeurige lijst op Internet. Na het letterlijke groene licht van Hannibal werd het eerste spel op 11 mei 2005 gestart.
